Best Kept Playing Fields Competition results 2021

 

2021 was another amazing year with a record 250 facilities entered into the competition. Incredible as this year also saw the competition's 50th anniversary.

The results are as follows:

Class 1 - Playing fields serving a population of 2,500 or more

Winner - Rayleigh Town Council - KGV Field

Runner Up - Hatfield Peverel Parish Council - Strutt Memorial

Class 2 - Playing fields serving a population of less than 2,500

Winner - Dedham Parish Council - Duchy Playing Field

Runner Up - Alresford Parish Council - Playing Field

Class 3 - The Gerald Snook Award for children's playgrounds whether on or off playing fields but judges apart from any playing field on which they are situated.

Winner - Loughton Town Council - Traps Hill

Runner Up - Ongar Town Council - Shelley park

Class 4 - Cricket Grounds on which a winter game may or may not be played

Winner - Saffron Walden Cricket Club

Runner Up - High Beach CC

Class 5 - Playing Fields which are professionally maintained and managed by larger authorities and commercial organisations

Winner - Chelmsford City Council - Oaklands Park

 Runner up - Chelmsford City Council - Springfield Hall Park

Class 6 - Best Kept Football Pitch

Winner - CFC Shalford

Runner Up -  Alresford Parish Council

Class 7 - For exceptional work carried out during the year

Winner - Braintree District Council - Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens

Runner Up - North Fambridge Parish Council
