Best Kept Playing Fields Competition results 2020

 

2020 was another amazing year with 228 facilities entered into the competition. Even the impact of Covid-19 couldn't stop our members from participating and our judges from judging! Thank you to you all.

The results are as follows:

Class 1 - Playing fields serving a population of 2,500 or more

Winner - Rayleigh Town Council - KGV Field

Runner Up - Kelvedon Parish Council - Recreation Ground

Class 2 - Playing fields serving a population of less than 2,500

Winner - Roxwell Parish Council - Stonehill Road

Runner Up - Gosfield Parish Council - Playing Field

Class 3 - The Gerald Snook Award for children's playgrounds whether on or off playing fields but judges apart from any playing field on which they are situated.

Winner - Rayleigh Town Council - KGV Field

Runner Up - Feering Parish Council - Playing Field

Class 4 - Cricket Grounds on which a winter game may or may not be played

Winner - Brentwood County Ground Club

Joint Runner Up - Billericay CC

                             Copford CC

Class 5 - Playing Fields which are professionally maintained and managed by larger authorities and commercial organisations

Winner - Braintree District Council - Mill Chase - Halstead

 Runner up - Chelmsford City Council - Chelmer Valley

Class 6 - Best Kept Football Pitch

Winner - Lawford Parish Council -

Runner Up -  CFC Shalford

Class 7 - For exceptional work carried out during the year

Winner - Bradwell on Sea Parish Council, for refurbishment of their play area.
